Please plan ahead so the bus can leave on time. It’s GAME DAY! Tonight our SP-Max Royals take on the Rugby Panthers in the 2021 season opener @ South Prairie. Kick off: 7:00.

Reminder: Elementary Open House tomorrow (August 19th) 5:30-7:30pm @ Max School. We will be grilling! *High school students are welcome to the open house and you may also bring items for your lockers.

The will be a informational meeting on Thursday, August 19th at 6;00 for all girls and their parents interested in playing elementary basketball. The meeting will be on the stage.

After 8 and a half hours of playing and training at the Washburn Band Camp this week our 5th grade band class now knows how to play their first 5 notes! So excited to see how these young musicians continue to grow this year. 🎶

Volleyball practice starts on Monday, August 16th! The bus will leave Max at 5:25 am. There is also a Sports Booster meeting at 5:00 on Monday at South Prairie for all parents of athletes. Pictures for fall sports (except for JH volleyball) will be on Thursday at 10:00. This year’s 5th grade beginning band class is already at work learning their new instruments at the Washburn Band Camp this week! Mr. Starks says they are already making music to his ears! 🎶

7-12 football and cheer practice starts tomorrow morning at South Prairie and will run from 7:00-11:00! The bus will leave Max at 6:30 am. Please be on time.

There is a mandatory parent/athlete meeting for all coop sports tonight at 6:00 p.m. Please plan on attending if your child is planning to play sports during the 2021-2022 school year! XC will be meeting at 5:45 @ South Prairie as well. If you have not turned in your physical and fee, the school office will be open from 9:00-3:00 today. ATTENTION fall athletes: If you haven't already turned in your sports physical and fee, the office will be open next Monday-Wednesday (Aug. 2nd-4th) from 9:00-3:00 to collect them. Physicals and fees need to be turned in BEFORE the first practice (football and cheer start on Aug. 5th). 2021 FALL SPORTS REMINDERS: *If you are playing a fall sport, please make sure you are signed up in the office (many of you signed up before school was out last year.) *ALL athletes entering grades 4-12 are required to have a sports physical PRIOR to the 1st day of practice. A sports physical form can be printed off from the link below. (Form B will NOT be used this year.) Completed form needs to be turned into the school office. A copy of the sports physical will be sent to South Prairie for all coop athletes. * Participation fees are due to the school office along with physical forms PRIOR to the 1st day of practice. *Football and Cheer practice start August 5th, Cross Country starts August 9th, Volleyball on August 16th, and Elementary girls BB on August 24th. *There is a MANDATORY parent meeting for all coop sports on August 4th at 6:00 p.m at South Prairie. Congratulations to Christopher Zenz and Cole Huesers for advancing and competing in the ND State FFA Safety and Tractor Driving event held today at the ND State Fair! Christopher competed in the advanced division and received a gold and 4th place finish! Cole competed in the basic division and received a bronze award!

Literacy and Math Tutor Positions at Max School ND Reading and Math Corps is seeking two tutors to help Max Public School’s Kindergarten through 8th grade students who need extra support with reading and math for the 2021-2022 school year. Reading Tutors work one-on-one with grades kindergarten through 3rd grade for 20-minute sessions. Math tutors work with small groups of students in grades 4th through 8th grade. North Dakota Reading and Math Corps provides comprehensive training in strategies proven to help students learn, so tutors are well equipped to help students grow. This part-time AmeriCorps position requires a 10-month commitment for the school year beginning in August, 5 days a week for 20 hours per week. Tutors work during the school day while school is in session. Perks as A Tutor: AmeriCorps is a national service program that provides monthly stipends in lieu of an hourly wage. Tutors receive a $820 monthly living allowance and an education award of $2,417.14 (upon competition of all hours). The education award can be used for college tuition and current student loans. Tutors who are 55 or older may choose to transfer their education award to a child, grandchild, or foster child. 2 - 675 hour/year positions are available at Max Public School.
