2021 FALL SPORTS REMINDERS: *If you are playing a fall sport, please make sure you are signed up in the office (many of you signed up before school was out last year.) *ALL athletes entering grades 4-12 are required to have a sports physical PRIOR to the 1st day of practice. A sports physical form can be printed off from the link below. (Form B will NOT be used this year.) Completed form needs to be turned into the school office. A copy of the sports physical will be sent to South Prairie for all coop athletes. * Participation fees are due to the school office along with physical forms PRIOR to the 1st day of practice. *Football and Cheer practice start August 5th, Cross Country starts August 9th, Volleyball on August 16th, and Elementary girls BB on August 24th. *There is a MANDATORY parent meeting for all coop sports on August 4th at 6:00 p.m at South Prairie. Please plan on attending if your child is planning to play sports with South Prairie during the 2021-2022 school year! There will be a XC meeting the same night starting at 5:45. Christopher competed in the advanced division and received a gold and 4th place finish! Cole competed in the basic division and received a bronze award!

Literacy and Math Tutor Positions at Max School ND Reading and Math Corps is seeking two tutors to help Max Public School’s Kindergarten through 8th grade students who need extra support with reading and math for the 2021-2022 school year. Reading Tutors work one-on-one with grades kindergarten through 3rd grade for 20-minute sessions. Math tutors work with small groups of students in grades 4th through 8th grade. North Dakota Reading and Math Corps provides comprehensive training in strategies proven to help students learn, so tutors are well equipped to help students grow. This part-time AmeriCorps position requires a 10-month commitment for the school year beginning in August, 5 days a week for 20 hours per week. Tutors work during the school day while school is in session. Perks as A Tutor: AmeriCorps is a national service program that provides monthly stipends in lieu of an hourly wage. Tutors receive a $820 monthly living allowance and an education award of $2,417.14 (upon competition of all hours). The education award can be used for college tuition and current student loans. Tutors who are 55 or older may choose to transfer their education award to a child, grandchild, or foster child. 2 - 675 hour/year positions are available at Max Public School. Results from the State Track Meet in Bismarck: Gage Yellowbird placed 6th in the 110 meter hurdles! Many personal records were set by our other athletes! It was a great learning experience for our young team and we will keep on improving! It is sad to see it end, but we are already looking forward to State Track 2022!

The South Prairie/Max Royals Track Team had 7 athletes qualify for the State Tournament this weekend in Bismarck. They will be taking off tomorrow at 1:30. If you would like to help celebrate and wish them good luck, please meet on Main Street. Hope to see you there! Go Royals!
