News from Max School
The school year has been going very well through these challenging times, but we have made some changes to our Health and Safety Smart Restart plan.
- The Governor has made exemptions for schools to classify themselves in their own color category. Example- McLean county is in Orange but that does not necessarily put Max School in Orange.
- At Max School we have 5 colors- blue, green, yellow, orange, and red (Same as the rest of the State).
- Blue and Green are considered the same at Max. For our school to be in Blue/Green we must have zero percent of positive Covid cases and zero staff/students out due to contact tracing.
- For Max Elementary school to be in yellow there needs to be between 1 and 30 percent of staff and students either out with a positive Covid or contact tracing. For the Junior and Senior high staff and students (7th-12th grade) the percentage is between 1 and 20 percent.
- For Max Elementary school to be in orange there needs to be between 31 and 49 percent of staff and students either out with a positive Covid or contact tracing. For the Junior and Senior High staff and students (7th-12th grade) the percentage is between 21 and 49 percent.
- For Max School to be in Red there needs to be 50 percent of all staff and students either out with a positive Covid or contact tracing.
- If our school is in Orange or Red, all activities will be cancelled.
- If our School is in Orange all staff, students, and visitors will be required to wear cloth masks, masks will always be worn except when there is a 6-foot separation.
- If our School is in Red, the school will be distance learning.
- Please continue to check the website for athletic updates, regarding attendance at games. Our full Health and Safety Smart Restart plan is on our school website.
