Cossack nation,

A few updates regarding school and Covid-19

  • School will begin Monday, August 17th
  • Masks will be recommended, not required
  • We will practice social distancing at school and on the bus
  • We have plenty of hand sanitizers for each classroom
  • We have plenty of soap and wipes
  • Distance learning, if needed will be similar but with more rigor and accountability

We have two committees; one is Distance Learning and the other is Safety and Health.  Both committees have parents, teachers, school board member, and administration.  The Safety and Health committee also has a representative from Frist District Health and the Distance Learning committee has two students.

Our committees have met and will continue to meet to form a plan that works best for Max Public School.  Our committee’s use guidelines from the North Dakota Department of Health, Center for Disease Control, North Dakota Department of Instruction, and from the Governor.  Both plans must be approved by the school board before school starts, as of right now neither plan is finished, we continuously receive new information which is helpful in making sure we have a successful school year. Both plans are working documents, which means they can change fairly quickly.  I will continue to have updates as much as possible and will post updates on the website, Facebook and in the paper.

Please remember that we are all in this together.  With all of us working together, even when we don’t necessarily agree, we can accomplish our goal of providing a high-quality of education while keeping everyone safe and healthy.  If you ever have any comments or concerns, please feel free to call or stop in.

Stay Cossack Strong

Thank you, Travis Engen
