(Mr. Cavallo has won state Driver Education Teacher of the year for 2024!)

Cost:  $200 per student. (For district students this is a refundable deposit upon completion and passing of the course).

Requirements: Just a reminder before class starts on June 24, 2024 at 9:00AM. It is strongly recommended (NOT MANDATORY) that students obtain a learner’s permit from the North Dakota Department of Transportation. Students are to be 14 years of age before they start the driving part of driver’s education. Your 14-year-old must hold the permit for 12 months prior to taking the road test and getting their restricted license. Students can not miss any classroom time in order to pass the class. Please pack a lunch, it will not be provided. You will have access to fridge and a microwave for your lunch.

Classroom Instruction (Classes will be held at the Max Public School)
June 24th – 9AM – 3PM = 6 hours
June 25th – 9AM – 3PM = 6 hours
June 26th – 9AM – 3PM = 6 hours
June 27th – 9AM – 3PM = 6 hours
June 28th – 9AM – 3PM = 6 hours

Driving starts from the start of class for the behind the wheel part of the class after the classroom session. I will work out a schedule of driving times which will be given to students, please be flexible in driving times. Once the schedule is made up, I must stick with it to make sure I get everybody six hours of behind the wheel time along with six hours of observation time in the time I have allotted.

Students will not be driving consecutive days to allow time to practice between sessions. There will be times I ask that you supplement the learning experiences in the classroom by taking your teenager out to drive and letting them have more behind the wheel experiences.
