Hi! My name is Vlori Faul. I am excited to be your first-grade teacher this school year. I have been teaching in Max Public school since 2006. I was able to attend Max School from preschool all the way through 12th grade and now I am back again! I live out in the country and enjoy reading, going on walks, and fishing. I am looking forward to helping your child grow in knowledge this school year.

Class Schedule
A copy will be sent home at the beginning of the school year.
Weekly Updates
I will send home an update usually on the last day of the school week. It will be placed in your child’s TAKE HOME binder. This will inform you of any important happenings for the upcoming week.
Indoor/Outdoor Shoes
Each student needs a pair of indoor shoes (gym shoes) which they will leave in school. The shoes they wear to school will be used for recess.
Spelling
There will be a spelling list sent home weekly. Please practice at home throughout the week. They will be asked to write the words at the end of the week.
Reading
There will be 5 new SIGHT WORDS for your child to practice weekly. They will be tested on reading them at the end of the week. We will also be tested on reading any of the sight words they learned prior to the week they are on.
Homework
If your child did not complete their work at school, it will be sent home for them to finish and bring back the following day. Throughout the year, I will send some optional stories to read or optional math papers for them to do at home and bring back the next school day. They will then get a sticker on their homework chart if the book is signed or the math paper completed.
Birthdays
Students may bring a treat to school on his/her birthday to share. If their birthday is in the summer, we will celebrate their half birthday.
Snack Time
Students are responsible for bringing their own healthy snack to school. We do have a small refrigerator in our classroom if it is needed. Each child has a drawer they can put a few snacks in for the week.
Cold Lunch
If your child brings cold lunch to school, put in an icepack if possible. Our little fridge does not hold very many lunch boxes.
Clothing
Proper winter clothing, such as winter gloves, winter cap, boots, snow pants, and a warm coat will be needed for school. If your child doesn’t have the appropriate clothing for the weather, they may need to stay in for recess.
